Palin's Bus Tour Scandal: Move Along, Nothing to See Here (Update)

Does it really matter?

According to HarperCollins, they were the ones that set-up the tour and the logistics on how the tour was going to be conducted....

A spokesperson for Sarah Palin’s publisher has just confirmed to me that she took a privately chartered jet plane on several legs of her book tour, despite the fact that it had been billed as a bus tour.

But the spokesperson argued that she had only taken three plane trips, and that her plane travel had been “minimal” and only for “logistical” reasons.

There was the RNC expensive cloths fiasco that was set-up by McCain staffers and the fiasco was put on Palin.

And now you have this issue the talking point on Palin, when it should never have become a talking point.

Like I said before, Palin has some lousy handlers and advisors.

Palin can only go Rouge so many times, before these meaningless events drag her down....

And these type of events will.... She will always have her base, but others will have enough of it and move on...

Update: CBS is now pimping the story.

HarperCollins did not respond to questions about who was paying for the jet or who flies on it. But Palin has acknowledged flying during at least some portion of the trip, tweeting that she "Just got off flt" on November 21st.

It's a Book Tour........ It is evident by Palin's tweets that she was flying...

A lot of time and conspiracies developed by the nutcases like Andrew Sullivan and the idiot at Palingates.

The Palin Virus (S1P1 virus) in Alaska: Will it Take its Toll on Democratic Gubernatorial Candidates?

If you think the H1N1 virus is sweeping Alaska and causing havoc, think again…..

The Palin virus which I will call the S1P1 virus, is infecting the fringe within the Democratic Party in Alaska and the diagnosis of the S1P1 virus is not looking good.

Unlike the H1N1 virus, the S1P1 virus affects the temporal lobes of the brain and causes the synapse to go haywire.

And the diagnoses is called the Palin Derangement Syndrome (PDS).

Even though it affects the left in Alaska, PDS has shown up in very, very, staunch supporters of Palin and so-called conservatives who have issues with Palin, but for this article, the focus is on the fringe in the Democratic Party here in Alaska and the effect it is having.

When looking for signs of PDS, one of the main signals of having PDS is there is an “Euphoric cadence” (it has a catchy sound to it) in speech patterns when it comes to talking about Sarah Palin’s son Trig, her family or the father to Palin’s grandsons, Levi Johnston.

Thus the PDS patient has repeated illusions of Trig not being Sarah Palin’s child, but someone else’s child, Sarah and Todd are getting a D-I-V-O-R-C-E, Palin is having a nervous breakdown or Levi has the “goods” on Palin.

Some homeopathic types, have suggested cures of constructing hats out of tin foil and wearing them, but to no avail, that hasn’t worked.

What is interesting about the virus is how contagious the S1P1 virus is and how the S1P1 virus started here in Alaska and is thought to have infected one of Alaska’s “left coast” bloggers and then have been transmitted to other leftwing bloggers in Alaska. The virus is so strong, that it eventually infected the cable T.V. networks and their shows like the Rachael Maddow Show and Keith Olbermann’s Countdown (to irrelevance) that air on MSNBC.

If Al Gore is Right: Then the Earth is Flat

It only makes sense....

Some Food for Thought: Animals Don't Go and Get Vaccinations

Dogs Test Positive For H1N1 In China

China's Ministry of Agriculture has called for intensified monitoring and investigation of A/H1N1 flu in animals after two samples from sick dogs tested positive for the virus, according to a recent AFP report.

The veterinary clinic of College of Veterinary Medicine at the China Agricultural University reported Wednesday that two out of 52 samples from sick dogs tested positive for A/H1N1 flu virus, the ministry said late Friday.

Since pets and animals can catch the flu, how many pets and animals will go and get the vaccine? Will ObamaCare cover a vaccination program for pets? You see where I am going with this?

Because when you have crazy headlines that read: Infected dogs 'no threat to humans'

Then in the article it is stated:

Health experts in China have assured pet-lovers they need not panic following the discovery of two dogs infected with the deadly H1N1 flu at the weekend.

The animals were diagnosed in Beijing and, while it is possible for pets to transfer viruses to their owners, scientists said there is no evidence to suggest pets are already spreading the illness.

"If animals can get infected from humans, then the reverse is also true," said Feng Zijian, director of emergency response for the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

"But there is no need to panic in this case."

Given the fact that scientists were suggesting the first incident of the H1N1 in Mexico started when it was transferred from a pig to a young boy; you have to ask yourself, how in the hell do they really know if there is no evidence to suggest that pets or animals are not spreading it?

Poland Sticking With Their Guns: Poland, Russia may not agree gas contract in 2009

I was wondering if Poland was going to get tough with Russia on this deal.

KRAKOW, Poland, Nov 30 (Reuters) - Russia and Poland may not agree a gas contract by the end of this year, Poland's Deputy Prime Minister Waldemar Pawlak said on Monday, contradicting earlier comments by Warsaw and Kremlin officials.

"In the current situation, I am not so certain anymore that we will reach the gas agreement by the end of the year," Pawlak told reporters. (Reporting by Wojciech Zurawski, writing by Gabriela Baczynska, editing by Anthony Barker)

Are Submarine Supertankers in Alaska’s Future?

Back in April of this year, I had made a post on my own website that was titled: What Ever Happened to This Idea: Submarine Tanker Plans for LNG.

What I didn’t expect was who would come to the website to read it.

When you have the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Australian Department of Defence, the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory in the U.K., SACLANT Undersea Research in Italy and Gazprom in the U.K. to name a few, come and visit, then you have to question, why the interest?

Now given what has transpired with the newly discovered e-mails from scientists who have manipulated the climate data to show a global warming pattern, the issue of submarine tankers and the interest from the named organizations, takes on new meaning with regard to the polar ice caps and polar bear habitat.

Russian Train Crash: Explosion Caused 1 Meter-Diameter Crater (Update)

Chechen terrorists to blame for Russian train crash

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm....No mention of it on Kavkazcenter.com....

There are conflicting reports on this. Some passengers said they heard no explosion and some say they heard a "loud slap."

If the Chechens did this, they will proudly state they did and post it... This is a wait and see story..

(Update)

Some have picked up on the fact that threats had been made and posted on Kavkazcenter by Muslims in country, that on November 25th, an attack would be made.

However, as shown here, a communique on who did what, has come out days later:

Chechen Mujahideen Claim Sabotage Bombing of Russian Natural Gas Storage Facility

By Evan Kohlmann

The NEFA Foundation has obtained a communiqué issued by a group calling itself “Muwahiidun ar-Rusi” ("The Russian Monotheists") claiming responsibility for the bombing of "the largest subterranean natural gas storage facility in the world" in Stavropol, Russia. The communiqué was posted by Kavkaz Center, the official mouthpiece of the Chechen insurgents. Kavkaz stated that it "does not have reliable evidence about the organization...Let us remind that the same organization announced its participation in the sabotage at the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric plant."

The complete text of the communique can be accessed via the NEFA Foundation website.

Russia to Delivery S-300 Missile Defense System: Israel has no Ally

Russia 'will' deliver S-300 to Iran in 2 months

Time is running out....... Once these are installed, Iran will complete their nuke program...

Obama has said nothing about this system....

And on the S-300 system, it was stated on this site here.

Meanwhile the Israelis are selling spy drones to Russia in hope that Russia will not sell the anti-aircraft missile system to Iran.

Russia admitted that it signed a deal, two years ago, to sell Iran a billion dollars worth of S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems. Russia has shipped some components, and trained some Iranian troops, but has not completed delivery. That's because Russia has been negotiating with the U.S., Israel and European nations, to obtain a bribe of sufficient size to make it worthwhile to lose the sale to Iran. This has not pleased the Iranians, but there's not much they can do about it.

Any bets on if Russia stops selling the anti-aircraft components to Iran in a round about way?

The Washington Times had it wrong as did Israel...

As do some people who write into the Wall Street Journal:

In "Obama and Putin's Russia" (Review and Outlook, July 6), you cite the pro-Kremlin analyst Gleb Pavlovsky that "there's not a single serious global issue where the United States is dependent on Russia today." In fact, Washington is counting on Russia to help solve the Iranian nuclear crisis.

Moscow offered Tehran the option of sending its spent nuclear fuel to Russia for reprocessing. That plan permits Iran to pursue peaceful nuclear power while preventing use of spent nuclear fuel to build bombs. Russia has also frozen the sale of its sophisticated S-300 antimissile system to Iran. Without it, Iran would find it difficult to defend itself against Israeli or U.S. air strikes.

Russia is helping to solve the Iranian nuclear issue peacefully, even though it would benefit enormously from an Israeli or American attack on Iran. Russia and Iran are among the world's top exporters of oil and natural gas. If military action in the Persian Gulf damaged Iran's exports or closed the Strait of Hormuz, the price of oil and gas would skyrocket. The Russian economy would rise like a phoenix from the ashes on surging oil revenues.

A defanged Iranian nuclear program would undermine the U.S. rationale for a missile defense in Eastern Europe. Without a nuclear Iran, Russia might persuade the U.S. to dismantle the missile defense on its doorstep.

Russia is acting responsibly regarding the Iranian nuclear issue and, in the process, can help U.S. interests.

There are no options left. No sanctions, no embargo, no more talk.....

Air strikes now.... But that won't happen.....

Sarah Palin: Should We Make Rogue Vogue?

By Paul Ibbetson

Sarah Palin is back in the public spot light with her new bestselling book, Going Rogue. At the moment, on just about every television channel, one can view the very photogenic Palin being quizzed about her new book and her plans for the future. Of course, the big question that comes up at some point in every conversation is - will she run for the top spot in the next presidential election? While trying to pick the person that will be the Republican Presidential Candidate in 2012 is a pre-mature question, who among us, both liberal and conservative, can’t say it is not a tantalizing topic to discuss? For conservatives, it is one of the most important chances to correct this Titanic-style course of destruction that Barack Obama has chartered for the country. For liberals, it’s a chance to hate a new conservative presidential candidate with all the energy they can muster. Good times.

A Happy Thanksgiving Salute

TransCanada under investigation in U.S. for alleged overcharging (Update)

TransCanada under investigation in U.S. for alleged overcharging

WASHINGTON -- A U.S. energy regulator is investigating whether a natural gas pipeline company controlled and operated by TransCanada Corp. is overcharging customers. Two other U.S. pipeline companies are also under the microscope.

The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission said Thursday it is looking at rates levied by Great Lakes Gas Transmission LP, Northern Natural Gas Company, and Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America LLC. FERC said the probe concerns whether the companies "are over-recovering costs, causing rates to be unjust and unreasonable."

TransCanada, directly and indirectly through a wholly-owned subsidiary, owns 100% of Great Lakes, said James Millar, a TransCanada spokesman in Calgary.

“We’re analyzing the matter and can’t predict” the outcome, he said. FERC, Mr. Millar said, has not invoked the rule it used to trigger the review in 20 years. He did not know whether TransCanada was aware FERC was considering the review.

While this was going on, Obama requested that Drue Pearce step down.

WASHINGTON — The Republican who heads up the federal agency overseeing the proposed construction of Alaska's natural gas pipeline is stepping down at the request of President Barack Obama.

Hmmmmm...... The Denali project is seeking Gazprom's support and there are rumblings that the Hickel LNG project may be linked up with the Denali project.

Hickel is supporting Bill Walker in the Republican primary for Governor and Palin is supporting Sean Parnell.

And the bad news on TransCanada emerges?

A long time ago, I said Palin should have worked to bring the producers together...

This does not bode well for Parnell and Palin...

Hickel has endorsed Obama in the past and then he backed-stabbed Palin...

It seems Hickel hasn't pulled that knife out of Palin's back and still has his own interests in mind...

Update: I am going to be very direct here. I have said it before and I will say it again. Palin has some lousy handlers and advisors.

Channel 2 News: What would you do (with AGIA) if you were still governor?

Sarah Palin: We need to remind the lawmakers of their enthusiasm and that overwhelming support to get this gas line off the dime, the project. Other administrations, they've been talking about it for decades in Alaska; we know that there is the need. And Alaska has the ability now to get the thing built. We have a great partner in TransCanada Alaska (and) Exxon, (the) largest company in the world wanting to partner with the best pipeline building company in the world.

When it came time to negotiate the deal, Palin should have worked with ConocoPhillips and B.P. More importantly with Conoco.

Now she has a problem with headlines that puts TransCanada in a bad light and Exxon, already, is not a well liked company.

So who does Palin point to? TransCanada and Exxon....

This upcoming election in Alaska will be very interesting on how it impacts Palin's credentials.

Right now she is living her field of dreams but will it come to an end later on?

Presently I am putting together a story titled her field dreams and if it will end.

Right now people will pay to see her, but will enough people vote for her if and when the time comes?

H1N1 Comes Back Stronger the Second Time

The CDC is now getting concerned... But health officials contradict themselves...

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control confirmed that a West Virginia physician had the H1N1 virus twice — once in August and again in October.

Dr. Debra Parsons, a pediatrician in Cross Lanes, W. Va., first became ill this summer, the same time her son did. Parsons tested herself for the virus, and it came back positive for the H1N1 Influenza A strain.

When Parsons experienced flu-like symptoms again in October, even worse than those she had in August, she tested herself again. The test came back positive again for H1N1.

The next comments are amazing when you consider that the H1N1 is a novel virus that is mutating.

Health officials in West Virginia were skeptical at first.

Dr. Rahul Gupta, director of the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department said he was "aware of no data or scientific body of research or case reports" proving a person could have the disease twice.

However, the CDC tested specimens from both of Parsons' H1N1 tests, confirming they both tested positive for the virus.

"They said this happens every year with the seasonal flu, so there's no reason to expect that it won't happen with swine flu," Parsons told the newspaper. "Every flu strain can change a little bit."

At a news conference Wednesday, Dr. Anne Schuchat, director of the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, says it is not impossible for a person to get the flu twice.

However, Gupta is still doubtful. He said if you've had the virus once, your body should build an immunity to it for the future.

"That would mean you have a problem with your immune function," he said.

Parsons said she knows of no problems with her immune system.

Health officials were skeptical but at the same time they state that getting the flu the second time happens with the seasonal flu so there is no reason that it couldn't happen with the swine flu?

If it happens with the seasonal flu, then why be skeptical on contracting the H1N1 a second time?

Sour Grapes on Sarah Palin: Media Matters Whines

Link

Basically, the left in the media are upset that Palin has ignored them....

Too bad for them.....

Because it has something to do with you dig yourself a hole and fall in, Palin shouldn't have to pull you out...

The left also seem to think Oprah and Barbara Walters interviews along with the the Fox News interviews don't count.

Wally Hickel can Appreciate this One: Sinopec in $6.5 billion Iran refinery deal

Former Governor Wally Hickel was pimping a plan with his cohort Scott Heyworth on having Sinopec build the Alaska gas pipeline...

Too bad this news has come out.

TEHRAN (Reuters) - China's Sinopec (0386.HK) has signed a tentative deal to provide financing of $6.5 billion for oil refinery projects in Iran, two Iranian news agencies reported on Wednesday.

If such an agreement goes ahead, it would provide Iran, the world's fifth-largest crude exporter, with much needed capital to help develop its all-important energy sector, which is under U.S. sanctions.

Will someone show how sanctions will work against Iran?

When Palin states we should export energy to China in one breath and in the next she states we need to use sanctions against Iran, she digs herself in a deeper hole...

She needs to knock off the rhetoric on that point...

H1N1 virus mutation detected in July

The CDC can no longer hide it now...

link

HELSINKI: A mutation of the A/H1N1 flu virus reported in Norway was also discovered in Finland in July, Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health said in a statement on Tuesday.

According to the statement, this is a normal mutation in influenza viruses. Those mutated viruses found in Norway or elsewhere do not affect the common properties of the virus nor the means to combat it. The anti-viral drugs and vaccinations are still effective against the virus.

Last week, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health informed the World Health Organization of a mutation of the H1N1 flu virus detected in two patients who died and one with severe illness.

Even the Finnish scientists are trying to downplay the resistance to Tamiflu...

However the CDC has made the following comments just recently...

The mutations that were described recently are interesting, they suggest that the virus could mutate to potential changes that could lead to more virulence. The mutations though have been seen in mild cases as well as severe cases in Norway and Ukraine and so the jury is not out yet on whether that mutation is going to be common to spread to a lot of people and lead to differences in the severity of disease. So it’s an important result but doesn’t yet have public health implications.

(emphasis added)

What does the jury say about the H1N1 mutation in the Ukraine?

British scientists are examining the strain of swine flu behind a deadly Ukrainian outbreak to see if the virus has mutated.

A total of 189 people have died and more than one million have been infected in the country.

Some doctors have likened the symptoms to those seen in many of the victims of the Spanish flu which caused millions of deaths world-wide after the World War One.

Meanwhile the WHO states:

GENEVA — The World Health Organization says tests on swine flu samples from Ukraine show no significant mutation of the virus.

WHO had sent an expert team to Ukraine last week after reports of an unusual flu outbreak.

This is the same organization that stated there was no mutating virus when there was as was stated by the Finnish scientists in July as well as Japanese scientists and Brazilian scientists.

Polk Coroner: H1N1 Deaths Understated

link

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Iowa has officially recorded 21 H1N1 deaths, including seven in Polk County alone. But the county's medical examiner said he has performed autopsies on some residents who were never diagnosed with H1N1, but actually had it.

"In the autopsy, what we're seeing is very heavy, wet hemorrhagic lungs, lungs with a lot of blood in them," said Dr. Gregory Schmunk.

He said the official count of seven H1N1 deaths is inaccurate, but patient rights laws prohibit him from giving specific numbers.

He said there are two reasons for the discrepancy. First, not all sick patients get tests and second, the virus is difficult to detect. Some patients may be too sick to receive the most accurate H1N1 test.

"They're not always done and it can be hazardous to the patient if they're in a respiratory critical situation," Schmunk said.

He also said that some tests reveal a false negative.

"Because of our limitations on testing, sometimes the tests aren't positive," he said. "They do appear to fit clinically the course of a H1N1 viral-type pneumonia."

Alaska's U.S. Senator Mark Begich: A Man With a Past and is There a Smoking Gun?

I am going to start off with saying you can judge a man’s character by his past and the friends he keeps or kept. And when you look at both Senator Begich’s past and who his friends were, no one should be surprised with the new revelations on Anchorage’s budget deficit and how then Mayor Begich left out some important information when it came to signing union contracts that cost Anchorage taxpayers more money.

When Begich ran against Ted Stevens for the U.S. Senate seat, Begich saw an opportunity because Senator Stevens was under investigation for not properly filing campaign reports and it was based on Bill Allen, (longtime political contributor to both Republican and Democratic candidates) remodeling Steven’s house in Girdwood.

Prior to the trial of Ted Stevens, the federal government and their prosecutors were involved in the corruption trails of Alaska Republican legislators. One individual who was involved in the corruption trials was Bill Bobrick, longtime lobbyist for various clients and one time, Deputy Treasurer and best friend of Mark Begich.

Could Palin Be President? Matthew Dowd says Yes She Could

Matthew Dowd thinks Palin could president

Here is how, in his own words...

-- Quality over quantity. You don't need to "tweet" quite so much. You don't need to be at countless rallies and photo ops. Instead, seek out substantive platforms where you can relate to people in a thoughtful, measured way. Appear on Sunday shows every now and then, sit down with Charlie Rose and editorial boards, and give serious speeches on your approach to the world in the 21st century.

-- Hope and fear. To be elected president, a candidate has to understand voters' fears but appeal to their hopes. Ronald Reagan (and Bill Clinton) knew this very well. To do this more comprehensively, I would suggest traveling more to better get a handle on where the voters are on topics related to finances, faith, race, etc. Get out of the bubble of high-profile events. Go to the inner cities, the suburbs and small towns where folks are trying to live their lives through great anxiety. And don't go to talk about yourself, but to listen to others.

-- Reagan is the past. While Reagan is a beloved president who did much for this country, folks want to look to the future and believe in a new brand of leader. Espousing the values Reagan spoke to and represented is fine, but you need to be yourself, not an acolyte for a president who is now in the history books.

-- Use humor. In responding to controversy, bad press and negative occurrences in general, learn to let it slide off of you with a knowing smile. Maybe even use some self-deprecation. Levi Johnston, your almost son-in-law, has been a thorn in your side. Let it go. Publicly sparring with a teenager is not presidential. Don't be afraid to make fun of yourself. Voters like candidates who know that they aren't perfect and can laugh at themselves.

Woman to Woman: Palin Fans Speak Out

C-Span has a filmed segment on the Palin book-signing at a bookstore in Ohio..

A brief overview of the filmed segment:

The Cases of the Missing Mutating H1N1 Virus: Norway Scientists Find Mutated H1N1 Virus (Update)

For sometime, the CDC and WHO have denied evidence that the H1N1 virus was mutating and it has been pointed out on this site numerous times.

However, scientist in Norway have found along with scientist from Brazil and Japan, that the H1N1 virus has mutated. And adding to that list of scientists, Russian scientists back in August, discarded a H1N1 seed strain for the H1N1 vaccine because the strain mutated.

Interestingly, that story was never picked up by the mainstream media. That event was pointed out on this site here.

In Pune India, scientists were concerned on the virus mutating and was pointed out here.

In Kenya, a H1N1 vaccine was discarded because of concern that the virus had mutated and that was pointed out on this site here.

Now a mutating virus emerges in Norway...

Link

OSLO, Nov 20 (Reuters) - Norwegian health authorities said on Friday they have discovered a potentially significant mutation in the H1N1 influenza strain that could be responsible for causing the severest symptoms among those infected.

"The mutation could be affecting the virus' ability to go deeper into the respiratory system, thus causing more serious illness," the Norwegian Institute of Public Health said in a statement.

There was no reason to believe the mutation had any implication for the effectiveness of flu vaccines or antiviral drugs made by groups such as Roche (ROG.VX), GlaxoSmithKline (GSK.L), Novartis (NOVN.VX) and AstraZeneca (AZN.L), the authorities said.

(emphasis added)

Note the concern on ensuring the reader has information on no implication on the effectiveness of the flu vaccines and antiviral drugs made by groups like Roche, the maker of Tamiflu.

This is poor reporting on the part of Reuters because you have the recognition that the virus is mutating in such a way that it is becoming resistant to Tamiflu in the U.K. and in Canada.

Dr. Guy Boivin said people who've been exposed to the virus may already be in the process of becoming ill, a circumstance that can foster the emergence of Tamiflu-resistant viruses.

As of late last week the World Health Organization was reporting that 42 cases of Tamiflu-resistant pandemic H1N1 viruses had been seen globally since the pandemic began. The case Boivin reported on in the New England Journal of Medicine was the third, from late June.

Moreover, as pointed out in August on this site, the U.K. government ignored warnings on giving Tamiflu.

Advisers urged the Government to offer paracetamol to the public instead of Tamiflu, to stop the virus gaining resistance to the drug.

But the Department of Health advisers said ministers ignored their advice, even when it became clear the outbreak was mild.

The mutating virus has been written about for sometime on this site, here, here and here.

Given the fact that the H1N1 has mutated and the WHO and the CDC continued to deny it had, you have to ask why did they deny that it is mutating?

For one, the press clearly enabled the storyline from the WHO and the CDC when you consider Reuters in their two stories, have conflicting messages.

In one story, the drug was mutating, but there was no implication on the effectiveness of antiviral drugs in one story but in their other story, the virus is mutating in a manner that it has become resistant to the antiviral drug Tamiflu.

And with this, you have to question why would the CDC deny the virus was mutating.

Some have taken the position that there is some conspiracy by the government to trump up the dangers of the virus as an attempt to make people get vaccinated.

If that is the case, then why would the CDC deny that there is a mutating virus that is clearly getting stronger and is showing signs of becoming resistant to antiviral drug?

And then just recently state the vrus outbreak is cresting or declining?

With these statements, it is known that states like Alaska have quit testing for the H1N1 and the not reporting deaths caused by the H1N1 virus is a by-product of not testing for the virus.

And for that, you have to ask, if people knew or thought the virus was mutating, would they question the effectiveness of the current vaccines?

And would they get vaccinated?

Update: Here is an update on the H1N1 virus...

A cluster of four Tamiflu-resistant cases of H1N1 flu at Duke University Medical Center has raised concerns that changes in the virus may make severe infections more difficult to treat.

Three of the Duke patients died. All were adults, including two women and one man, and they had other major diseases, said Cameron Wolfe, an infectious-disease specialist at Duke. He said a fourth patient remains hospitalized.

Moreover, the Mirror in the U.K. has a short paragraph on concerns in the U.K. that the H1N1 that has mutated in the Ukraine may spread to the U.K.

And last, I know from the logs on traffic that this thread has been sent to the U.S. Senate.

And I am going to say that the information on the CDC's part in misinformation and ignoring warnings on taking Tamilfu may be looked at during Senate hearings on the H1N1.

Revamping Detroit, One House at a Time

This is a house that I just recently purchased in Detroit, through an auction.

The house had been sitting on the market for sometime and as a result, the house was vandalized.

Currently the house is being renovated.

The houses in Detroit are being vandalized regularly and stripped and it is a city where high property taxes/crime plague the citizens of the city.

If all things go right this January, this house will be burned in John Conyers' memory...

And that burning on Conyers's brain will have to do with the fact that Detroit hasn't seen a conservative answer to problems and the city isn't conservative enough and hasn't been since before Coleman Young took charge.

Three bathrooms were vandalized and this is one bathroom before it was vandalized.

After it was vandalized.

The kitchen was vandalized.

Windows were broken...

Copper tubing and galvanized pipe that was stolen, was replaced with pex tubing..

The progress on this remodel will be updated and I will go into detail in January on what is planned for this house.....

Politics is local unless you’re from the Outside looking in

They say politics is local but the reality is; it is local, but many times Outside influences come into play on local matters and those influences were best displayed when Sarah Palin was chosen to be Senator John McCain’s running mate.

Alaska for the most part, was viewed by many people in the Lower 48 as a place that was cold, was completely dark in the winter, people lived in Igloos and English was a second language. It wasn’t until Sarah Palin was chosen as the Vice Presidential candidate that people in the Lower 48, through the lens of the media, blogs and airwaves of talk radio were exposed to Alaska’s political and geographical landscape.

And because there is a very conservative independent streak that runs through Alaskans, that conservative independent streak was brought out when the media began to scrutinize Alaska politics through Sarah Palin and her husband Todd Palin.

It was surprising to see Todd Palin’s politics come under scrutiny by certain people in the media and by certain bloggers here in Alaska and in the Lower 48. They used his past party affiliation with the Alaska Independence Party (AIP) to cast him as some fringe person and somehow tried to equate Todd’s party affiliation and Sarah Palin’s comments made to the AIP, to Obama’s 20 years sitting in the pews of Rev. Wright’s church or palling around with an unrepentant domestic terrorist.

I too was a member of the AIP and I ran under the party banner for a state senate seat against Republican Dave Donley and since that time I have run under the Republican Party banner. And I can tell you that just because you are a member of the AIP, it does not mean you are on the fringe or you subscribe to the party’s entire platform. Or if you speak to the AIP as Sarah Palin did, it does not mean you endorse the words spoken by the founder of the party.

This applies to all parties and their members. In fact, I will show you in future articles how the fringe on the left here in Alaska are found supporting the Democrats and are displayed as the mainstream thinking in Alaska when they are not.

What I found interesting from media personalities like Keith Olbermann or Rachael Maddow from MSNBC was; when they were talking about Alaska’s political landscape and Sarah Palin, they did so with a sincere ignorance at the beginning.

But as time went on, they ended with making outright lies laced with facts and they sounded like a local actor in Fairbanks, waxing prose of tall tales of the Great White North or Soapy Smith episodes.

The narrative of those on the left went as so far as to state a lie in an ad that Sarah Palin was a member of the AIP when she wasn’t.

Trying to show a link between Obama palling around with Bill Ayers and Palin palling around with members with the AIP, was far-fetched and just plain dumb. Moreover, many of the members of the AIP are Alaskan Natives with one Alaskan Native, Carl Moses being a former AIP member elected to the state legislature.

Juxtapose left leaning blogger’s derogatory comments made against the AIP members with derogatory comments made by the same bloggers against Palin on her policies with the village of Emmonak and you will see the left stepping all over themselves with a hatred of Palin laced with their own bigotry towards Alaskan Natives that continues today.

There is an irony in that the left leaning bloggers here in Alaska who are regular guests on the Rachael Maddow show and Keith Olbermann’s Countdown, like to attack the AIP as a party made up of wingnuts and forget that the AIP has more registered members in the Alaskan Native village of Emmonak, than the Republican Party has.

And if a party’s founder is an indication of the party member’s sentiment is correct, then it must be pointed out since President Van Buren was one of the founders of the Democrat Party of today, one should ask about Van Buren's policies on Native Americans.

Maybe Alaskan Natives have a valid reason to be part of the AIP. History of the Democrat Party and their founders was not on their side.

To date, there hasn’t been a founder or a member from the AIP who espoused violence against America, or treated Native Americans/Alaskans poorly. And when you consider just recently, President Obama’s decision to end funding for retirement benefits of Alaskan Natives who served in WWII here in Alaska, well the silence of criticism from the left bloggers in Alaska towards President Obama’s decision proves my point.

The political landscape in Alaska is slowly changing and the progressives and left have not learned the art of modulating ones voice with reason and truth. Instead, Outside influences have infiltrated local politics in Alaska to where local politics are not considered local, but a political playground for Outside environmentalist organizations, Outside progressive organizations and their local supporters to play in.

Walter Reed: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Continued

I began to question how did Hasan's religious beliefs tie in with how he treated patients, here and here.

NPR has just today, published a story on Hasan

On May 17, 2007, Hasan's supervisor at Walter Reed sent the memo to the Walter Reed credentials committee. It reads, "Memorandum for: Credentials Committee. Subject: CPT Nidal Hasan." More than a page long, the document warns that: "The Faculty has serious concerns about CPT Hasan's professionalism and work ethic. ... He demonstrates a pattern of poor judgment and a lack of professionalism." It is signed by the chief of psychiatric residents at Walter Reed, Maj. Scott Moran.

When shown the memo, two leading psychiatrists said it was so damning, it might have sunk Hasan's career if he had applied for a job outside the Army.

"Even if we were desperate for a psychiatrist, we would not even get him to the point where we would invite him for an interview," says Dr. Steven Sharfstein, who runs Sheppard Pratt's psychiatric medical center, based just outside Baltimore.

Sharfstein says it's a little hard to read the evaluation now and pretend that he doesn't know that Hasan is accused of shooting dozens of people. But he says if he had seen a memo like this about an applicant, Sharfstein would have avoided him like the plague.

The memo ticks off numerous problems over the course of Hasan's training, including proselytizing to his patients. It says he mistreated a homicidal patient and allowed her to escape from the emergency room, and that he blew off an important exam.

There will be no doubt more to come on this.

MSNBC's Olbermann on Nicole Wallace and Did Wallace Lie About the Couric/Palin Interview?

First up: Keith Olbermann on Tom Ridge's Book

What did Nicole Wallace say on Fox News?

Wallace stated she wasn't even in the room when they were making decisions and she is speaking as she knows?

Did Olbermann comment on Nicole Wallace calling Ridge's statements a "wussy way"

Can't find anything.

Here is a Nicole Wallace interview on if McCain said "resolved" verus "addressed."

Did Olbermann interview her or speak about her gaffe?

Can't find anything.

But Olbermann did attack Palin on every topic that conflicted with Wallace...

The clothes. The where is Africa rumor, etc, etc, etc.

What did Fox News say about the clothes and staffers?

And what did Wallace say about Palin the day of the V.P. debate.

What it comes down to is; staffers trying to save their own butts from their own screw ups and trying to maintain their credibility so they can get a job..

As for Olbermann, when it came to Wallace, it seems very odd when you consider her comments on attacking Ridge, Olbermann never made Wallace the worst person in his world.

It must be an olive fruit fly thing........He tends to get his geographical bearings confused between France and North Carolina...

Now what did Katie Couric say about the Sarah Palin interview posted here.

From Couric's own YouTube site about asking what issues would you like for her to ask.

Send Katie your thoughts about her upcoming interview with Gov. Sarah Palin. What would you ask her if you could? What issues are most important to you as the election approaches? Leave a comment here on the channel or send an email to couriconline@cbsnews.com

You see Nicole as you stated in your own YouTube how important the YouTube is on holding people accountable; Couric's own words don't match your comments, so maybe the lovely Ms. Maddow would care to do a follow up....

It has to do with eating crow for both of you ...

Wallace told msnbc that this is "rationalization or justification or fiction." "We set up this interview on the day of the U.N. General Assembly, with a walk-and-talk in front of the U.N. It was never made as two working gals ... that was supposed to be to highlight her foreign policy savvy."

Seems Wallace has her messages mixed up...

India puts nuclear plants on alert-report

India puts nuclear plants on alert-report

This headline is reason why the following was said on this site which is contrary to what other conservatives believe:

Where there is no resource development, there is no security

The topic of global warming will be felt in new legislation dealing with the cap and trade. The new laws will continue to weaken our national security and the laws may put us in a position of having to develop nuclear power plants to replace coal fired electric generators while we scrap the idea of building natural gas powered generators.

So I have to ask, is this a position we want to be in? Having to resort to nuclear power plants for electric generation instead of using natural gas or clean coal for electric generation?

When I first entered the Air Force, we were given a lecture on using nuclear energy and everyone in the class raised there hand in agreement with the instructor that we should.

I was the only one who didn't. I was the only one to speak up against it.

The argument from me was; if we develop the facilities, we risk losing a war. In effect once you develop the facilities, they become a target in war.

Back then, Iran was not much of a concern. Reagan was elected and we know what happened when he was elected. Iran backed down.

I however, use Iran as proof in that Iran's nuclear program development and Israel's statements to the development, show how a nuclear facility can be targeted in an act of war.

Moreover, there is also Syria and Israel.

This is not to say Israel is bad, because they have their own security to think of.

But once you have the facilities and if war did break out, would a country like North Korea have to launch a nuke missile or a missile with a conventional warhead to target a nuclear facility if built on the West Coast?

And if the facility was hit, what would be the outcome? Would it be a Chernobyl?

How about terrorists? Would they have to plant a "dirty bomb" to wreak havoc or just "hit" a nuclear facility.

Bill Gertz wrote an article in the Washington Times in July of 2002 and the topic headline was: Nuclear plants targeted

Gertz wrote:

U.S. intelligence agencies have issued an internal alert that Islamic terrorists are planning another spectacular attack to rival those carried out on September 11.

The detailed warning was issued within the past two weeks in a classified report that said one target was a U.S. nuclear power plant or one of the Energy Department's nuclear facilities.

The alert was based on sensitive intelligence gathered overseas that revealed discussions among terrorism suspects.

The latest warning was similar to other terrorist threats that prompted public alerts in October and December.

Officials familiar with the report said it contained six potential methods and targets of attack, among them:

A bombing or airline attack on a nuclear power plant or other U.S. nuclear facility, such as a weapons storage depot, designed to cause mass casualties and spread deadly radiological debris.

On GOPUSA the topic was brought up in a forum and Gertz's article in 2003 was discussed.

Terrorists have targeted the United States' largest nuclear power plant near Phoenix, and security officials are looking for Iraqi government "sleeper cells" that might carry out the attack, The Washington Times has learned.

The threat to the Palo Verde nuclear plant, located in the Sonora desert 50 miles west of Phoenix, prompted the deployment of National Guard troops to the facility, according to U.S. officials.

One could argue that any perceived threat against a nuclear facility could push popular opinion against the development of nuclear facilities.

It could also put legislators and politicians who endorse the idea of developing nuclear energy while pointing to the threat of terrorism in a position of looking foolish and willing to risk public safety for a type of energy development that is at risk of being a high valued target of terrorists.

The point of this is to show how we are now going to one extreme under the Obama administration and the effect will be a severe reduction in our natural resource development and that the pendulum in reaction may put us on a course of developing nuclear energy such as what France has done.

France as a role model

During the presidential elections, McCain pointed to the use of nuclear power in France and the success of it being used.

First question I would ask is; why did France have to develop nuclear energy to supply their energy needs. As stated in the information, nuclear energy was supported by the communists and socialists and with no oil, no gas and no coal, France was left with basically one choice.

The development of nuclear power plants.

The next question is, why is it that France has been opposed to the war in Iraq.

Where there threats made against France?

With the success of 9-11, the al qaeda became emboldened and credible in their threats and as such, the al qaeda issued threats against France and France reacted.

In 1994, there was a plan to hijack an airplane by Algerian jihadists. The target, the Eiffel Tower.

So given the success of 9-11 in terrorist threats being acted on, France has taken a benign stance on the war effort against the al qaeda. And when you consider the target rich environment in France with their nuclear facilities, you really have to question Sarkosky and his about face on American policy.

It is well known that Palin endorsed the McCain policy on building roughly 45 nuclear power plants by 2030. But she was against him on the policy on global warming and ANWR.

The question from this should be, do we really want to follow France as a role model or do we want to fight the trend in locking up our natural gas and oil resources?

As the people think, there is a majority that don't think that global warming is caused by human activity.

That is the Palin common denominator and hopefully she understands this.

Chairman Obama: China hails U.S. reiteration of sovereignty over Taiwan

Not only is Obama selling the U.S. out, he is selling out every Nation State that wants their sovereignty. From the U.S. to Georgia, the Baltic States, Eastern Europe and now this.

"China approves of President Obama's repeated reiteration of the one-China principle," Hu told reporters.

Hu referred to China's "sovereignty over Taiwan and other matters" during a state visit in which some Western analysts had predicted that China would also demand an explicit declaration by Washington of China's sovereignty over the restive frontier regions of Tibet and Xinjiang.

Going Rogue on Going Rogue: E-mails

Here is an it's reported and you decide moment..........

Palin also wrote that she was a longtime fan of "Saturday Night Live" and wanted to appear on the show. She wrote, "Let's do this,' I said. 'Let's go on and neutralize some of this, and have some fun!' Of course the idea was met with massive back and forth haggling."

But, according to an e-mail Palin wrote to staffers during the campaign, obtained by ABC News, she herself was expressing doubts.

"Still not thrilled with the idea," she said Oct. 14, 2008.

She complained about the humor against her family on the comedy program and said, "these folks are whack. … What's the upside in giving them [or] any celebrity venue a ratings boost?"

Hard to say what took place here on timelines, and how the comments flow in the book, but e-mails can be used effectively and can knock down statements to the contrary...

McCain knows this too well with his Blackberrygate fiasco...

And ended up with a lot more than we bargained for.

When we charged them up in the newsroom, we found one of the $20 Blackberry phones contained more than 50 phone numbers for people connected with the McCain-Palin campaign, as well as hundreds of emails from early September until a few days after election night.

We traced the Blackberry back to a staffer who worked for "Citizens for McCain," a group of Democrats who threw their support behind the Republican nominee. The emails contain an insider's look at how grassroots operations work, full of scheduling questions and rallying cries for support.

Schieffer Thinks Palin has no Political Future

Maybe he should do an interview with those who are seeking her political endorsement before making such statements..

Obama a.k.a Myrl Redding the Horse Trader is off to China to Trade on the U.S. Dollar

You know, the mainstream press is getting old with their attempts to reset the reset button with Russia.

Now with Obama going to China, are we going to hear how Obama has worked his fabulous horse trading skills with China?

The New York Times is having one of those hope for change moments in their headlines...

In China, Obama to Press for Tough Stance on Iran

You have to give it to the New York Times, they do know how to lead with the headlines.

But given the New York Times headlines, what just happened in Asia?

After failing to win an agreement on easing currency controls at the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation summit in Singapore over the weekend, Mr. Obama will need careful diplomacy in his meetings with Chinese President Hu Jintao and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao this week. Despite earlier indications that China's central bank was willing to relax the yuan's effective 16-month peg to the U.S. dollar, Mr. Hu carefully avoided any mention of the issue this weekend, instead attacking what he termed “unreasonable” trade restrictions on developing nations.

As for the Chattering Summit that just took place, with Russian President Medvedev, a.k.a. Krushchev (the New York Times loved Medvedev's de-stalinization of Russia comments), chattering with President Obama, a.k.a (see video at link) Mryl Redding the Horse Trader; what was said on this site back in June, still holds true today.

Obama's way of conducting foreign policy is to go along with Russia. Not operate from a point of strength.

So what did Obama sell to Russia to keep the base open? What price is the United States going to pay?

For starters,

Obama is doing nothing on Georgia. And Russia needs Georgia to run pipelines. Guess who wins there. Putin.

On the missile defense system. Obama is talking about partnering up with Russia on a missile defense system. This is what Russia wants. Putin wins.

On Iran, Russia takes the position of enabler with the current regime in Iran. That is what Russia wants. Putin wins.

Putin's Medvedev and the U.S. talk about arms reduction when Russia through its proxy countries like Iran, use their (Iran's) build up as a means to hold an upper hand over the United States. You see, Iran can achieve parity in a quicker manner when the United States reduces its arms. The United States loses, Putin wins and Obama leaves the United States vulnerable.

Of course the MSM won't talk about it. They will just point to the holding of hands between Putin's Medvedev and Obama with regard to talks on nuclear arms reduction between the U.S. and Russia and the partnering of a missile defense system against Iran.

Has that reset button been pushed with Russia? Neyt.

The only button that is being pushed is Obama's by Putin the puppeteer. And newspapers like the New York Times pushing their reader's buttons with snazzy headlines.

Moreover, what about China and sanctions against Iran?

This is what was stated on this site when writing about Afghanistan.

Just today, Sarah Palin spoke to the U.S. and our energy needs.

Following her comments made on energy and the currency, one would have to ask, when it comes to sanctions and the U.S., who is really being sanctioned?

Because sanctions will be meaningless if horse trading is done on a world currency.

Moreover, what effect would sanctions really have if the currency changed and who would really have the economic power.

As was stated on this site when writing about The Speech of the Century: Benjamin Netanyahu's UN Speech.

From a geopolitical standpoint, China will seek to hold the upper-hand over Russia in that China is dependent on Russia's natural resources.

China will not want to be in a position that Europe is in, in that Russia uses its natural resources to manipulate Europe.

As for Obama asking for sanctions?

If China does go along with sanctions against Iran, expect Obama to give away more than what was given to Russia. And there is no doubt, it will cost America plenty.

Obama calls for a reduction in nuclear arms and "shelves" the missile defense system in Eastern Europe which leaves all of Eastern Europe vulnerable to Iran as well as Russia.

Putin won the first round against Obama, but it will be China who gets the big prize in all of this.

The question will be what will Obama give China? Will it be China's request on a new world currency?

BEIJING -- China called for the creation of a new currency to eventually replace the dollar as the world's standard, proposing a sweeping overhaul of global finance that reflects developing nations' growing unhappiness with the U.S. role in the world economy.

Or will the Prime Minister of Israel use force against Iran to persuade China to put pressure on Iran.

The later may be the best option in the long run.

It is clear that Obama will give China what China wants, to get them to say they will support sanctions against Iran.

However, both Russia and China will not do anything with substance.

Now given the delays that have taken place with Iran, no military embargo against Iran will stop them on their nuclear development program and at this point in time, Israel has no option left.

Iran will have the capability to launch a nuclear warhead in the near future...

And we can thank Obama a.k.a Myrl Redding the Horse Trader.

Woman to Woman: Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin

This has an interesting implication. A coffee summit without Obama...

"I absolutely would look forward to having coffee," Clinton said from Singapore during an interview aired on Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Oprah, Barbara Walters and now Hillary Clinton......This will definately drive the women on the left crazy...It may even drive some on the right crazy too....

You have to ask, did Hillary get the White House approval?

One H1N1 Vaccine Story that Didn't Get Reported by the CDC or WHO

I had picked up on the following story a while back and I found it odd that it never hit the mainstream media pages... And since I have been waiting for a follow up, I found it odd no follow up was done...

Russian H1N1 seed virus for vaccine trials mutates

BANGKOK, Aug 25 (TNA) - The seed virus strain imported from Russia to produce a vaccine against Influenza Type A (H1N1) has mutated so that the vaccine production should be delayed, Prof Theerawat Hemajutha of the Chulalongkorn University Faculty of Medicine said Tuesday.

Prof Theerawat said genetic decoding of the virus by Mahidol University found that a mutation had occurred in the seed virus from Russia that was to be used for Thailand’s vaccine trials.

Thailand’s agencies concerned met at the Food and Drug Administration Tuesday and discussed the issue, concluding that the vaccine production and trials should be delayed as the seed virus strain was unstable. The production and trials may be too early, he said.

He said the meeting would report the issue to the Ministry of Public Health's ethics committee to make the final decision whether to continue with the vaccine production or not. However, the trials may continue by using seed virus from China, he said.

Back in May, before this story broke on the vaccine mutating, I made this post with some sarcasm on Russia stating they had no outbreak of the H1N1 flu.

Russia says vaccine against A/H1N1 flu virus under research

MOSCOW, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Russia is actively developing a vaccine against the A/H1N1flu virus, a senior Russian lawmaker said on Wednesday.

Makes sense, since on a thread on this website, it was stated that Russians had designed it in the first place.

But of course the Russians have denied this.

The question really has to be asked, since there seems to be no outbreak in Russia, are the Russians getting the mutated strain or seed strain from Mexico?

The Other Victims of Maj. Hasan: His Patients

The other victims

As a former Army psychologist, serving during the Korean War, I well understand "compassion fatigue," and the complex emotions involved in working with seriously wounded and mentally disabled soldiers. During my military service, mental health colleagues and I shared feelings of sadness about gut-wrenching stories we heard, and we often grieved along with our patients. Empathy and a strong, positive identification with patients is essential to successful treatment.

So given Maj. Hasan's ideology, I must question his ability to identify with patients who were "fighting Islam" (his words). And I have serious doubts about his competence, training and psychological fitness to treat soldiers embarking or returning from wars to which he was vehemently ideologically opposed.

My concern is not with Hasan's own stress from treating soldiers with post-traumatic stress disorder, but rather with the harm he may have inflicted on his other victims - not those who were shot, but the many patients he treated.

As a clinician, I find it inconceivable that Hasan could have been an objective, nonjudgmental, validating therapist - considering his extremist Islamic views - while his patients were discussing the combat experiences, anger, survivor guilt and other intense emotions they experienced during and after engaging in warfare against Muslim enemies.

My concerns may be politically incorrect, but Hasan's ideology is a valid mental health treatment issue.

Just a Hunch on Romney and Palin: Is there a Trig Truther Story on The Horizon? (Update)

I received an e-mail from a very reliable source here in Alaska that there may be a story about to break on Sarah Palin's son Trig. The source received a hand written letter in the mail with the following statements:

Get word to S.P.
Mitt R. paid off
They have photos, copies + signed statement RE: Trig

Now I have to question who would have such information? And would the information be manufactured?

And now for my hunch if the information in the letter is true on Romney..

With Palin's book coming out in a few days and who she has attacked, I would venture to say, if Romney has info on Palin, it came from McCain staffers who are outed in Palin's book and are part of Romney's campaign.

And if the info in the letter is true, then it would put Palin in the same position as Obama is in with his birth certificate.

When you study Palin and Obama, you have two political figures who have the same charisma with their base. And you have those who have come out calling for Obama to produce his birth certificate. The same request would be levied against Palin.

Having seen Mccain's operatives pull their shenanigan's in West Virgina between Huckabee and Romney and what they did to Romney in Florida, it would not surprise me that ex McCain staffers that moved to Romney's camp, would pull a stunt like this.

If a story does break on Trig and Palin, then it is by design...

Update:

This thread was written in a manner to flush out certain responses to the letter that was mailed. From my own experience, I have had information mailed to me in the same manner as with the source to this thread and the information was accurate.

The factual portion of the thread is the letter. The rest of the thread is to flush out the who's, the where's and whys on the letter.

And looking at the responses and who has linked and commented, the who's, the where's and whys are starting to be answered..

There is a lesson in the art of war in politics and it comes from the movie Shipping News when talking about headlines...

What it comes down to is this; Imminent Storm Threatens Village/Village Spared From Deadly Storm

Think about it......

Is Anyone Surprised? House Bill Increases Health Care Costs

From the Politico...

Democrats have promised that health reform would reduce health care costs, but legislation the House passed last week would increase costs over the next decade by $289 billion. By 2019, health costs would rise to 21.1 percent of GDP compared to 20.8 under current law, according to an actuarial report prepared by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

“With the exception of the proposed reductions in Medicare payment updates for institutional providers, the provisions of H.R. 3962 would not have a significant impact on future health care cost growth rates. In addition, the longer-term viability of the Medicare update reductions is doubtful,” the report said.

In other words, outside of Medicare payment cuts to hospitals, the bill doesn’t curb increasing health care costs. And even the Medicare payment cuts will be difficult to sustain.

Glenn Beck: You Magnificent Bastard

I had the chance to watch Glenn Beck's show today and I have to say and I am sure some on the left, under their breath are saying; Glenn Beck, you magnificent bastard...

For those who may have missed Beck's show, some of his show can be seen here.

Today's show should be used as a boilerplate for the GOP to develop a conservative grassroots movement among conservative blacks who have the desire to enter politics.

This isn't the only time Beck has nailed it on the problems that plague the GOP.

When Beck had David Horowitz on his show, the discussion on the problems with the inner cities took place between the two and Horowitz nailed it down.

(video at link)

Horowitz comes from a background of knowing how the left operates and when he points to the left's control of the school boards and the city councils, he points to how the conservative movement needs to cultivate a program to put conservatives into those local positions.

Back in June 2009, I had made a post that pointed to Robert Bobb and I titled the post Note to Republican Big Wigs: Robert Bobb is Doing What Should Have Been Started by the GOP

And there a commentor left this comment..

As someone who has lived both in Michigan and in Alaska (and now back in Michigan), I have to say that Bobb's efforts are like peeing into the wind in Detroit. Unless Detroit gets regime change - in both the city government and the state government - the Board of Education is unlikely to sustain any kind of beneficial change.

He is absolutely right, but the city of Detroit has such a history of cronyism and back-scratching that it will take a lot more than one man to effect true change.

And that sentiment found in the comments is precisely what Horowitz was speaking to.

Now having just purchased a house in Detroit, I can state that the property taxes the citizens of Detroit pay, is outrageous.

In fact, I wrote about it here... The home I recently purchased at auction is not the one I spoke about, but I can tell you that your taxes can make up half of your mortgage payment.

For the past two months I have been looking at purchasing property in Michigan. And what I have found is many of the homes in foreclosure have back property taxes/utilities that have not been paid.

Here is an Eastpointe property that I had purchased for $1000.00 at an auction.

The back property taxes owed are about $5.000.00 with a utility bill of about $800.00.

The common theme in all of these properties is; back taxes owed for about three years and high utility bills.

So this problem with the banks does not fall directly on the banks. It falls in part on the local municipalities and the outrageous taxes that are placed on the homes, homes that for the most part have security doors to protect the homes from theft and vandalism.

Not exactly your poster home for high taxes and a high quality of living is it.

That is why you see Democrats like Maxine Waters and John Conyers complain about the banks when in fact it is the policies of local mayors like the now indicted Kwame Kilpatrick and assembly members like John Conyers' wife who jacked up the taxes that put in some cases, a monthly tax payment that was probably equal or higher than the mortgage payment in 2006 and 2007 on home owners.

And last but not least on the matter of assembly members taking the Obama approach to paying taxes. How about this one from the recent past:

Watson paid pittance for taxes on 'nonexistent' Detroit house

Detroit City Councilwoman JoAnn Watson paid only $68 in property taxes this year because city records say her well-kept, brick Tudor-style home doesn't exist. Although the home has occupied its west-side plot since 1926, city records have classified the parcel as an empty lot for the past decade.

You compare the property below with the rest of the properties above and you can see, it's who you know that plays in politics. And Obama politics play well in not paying taxes, until you get caught. Meanwhile the rest get "screwed by the man" or in this case, the woman and the man.

Just think how many people could have kept their homes with paying only $68 a year on a much smaller home.

When you consider a person who has purchased a house years ago, sees their house payment go up because of property taxes and a liberal points to people losing their homes and blaming banks; the proof shows that a homeowner can lose their home because of outrageously high property taxes that go to a public education system that is broke.
