The Tale of Two Tales: David Axelrod

There was Axlerod's statement that said Obama never wanted Valerie Jarrett in the Senate

Then on the 13th of December, in the New York Times, it is stated that Rahm Emanuel did contact the Governor from Illinois and Valerie Jarrett was on a list of desired people to fill the President Elect Obama's empty Senate seat.

When people start coming out with statements that are bold lies like this. Then there is a cover-up.

Plain and simple.

Moreover, what did Axelrod think of exchanging favors for jobs?

The democratic process is often messy. Diverse constituencies fight fiercely for their priorities. Their elected representatives use the influence they have to meet those needs, including sometimes the exchange of favors--consideration for jobs being just one.

From the idictment:

Blagojevich speaks with Advisor A Blagojevich tells Advisor A he will offer the seat to Jarrett if he is appointed Secretary of Health and Human Services

Blagojevich speaks with Harris and Advisor B, a Washington, DC, consultant

Blagojevich indicates that he will offer Jarrett the Senate seat if he is appointed Secretary of Health and Human Services, but Harris notes that any deal cannot appear to be a quid pro quo

Blagojevich notes his financial situation, and Harris states that “they” are considering it

Advisor A .... Advisor B being "they" who were considering the deal....

Look closer at these two articles you link to. You're misinterpreting details:

From the sun times 12/11-

"David Axelrod said Thursday that Obama's 'preference was always she serve in the White House.'"

From the ny times 12/13

"Mr. Emanuel’s list of possible candidates included a senior adviser to Mr. Obama, Valerie Jarrett;"

Intent is the operative here not symantics or creative wordsmith by a New York Times reporter.

The point is Obama's list of desired candidates (not Emanuel's list) included candidate Vallerie Jarrett.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/11/09/source-obama-wants-valerie-jarrett-to-replace-him-in-senate/

"...A prominent Democratic source close to Barack Obama confirmed Sunday that Valerie Jarrett is Obama’s choice to replace him in the Senate."

The detail is Obama wanted Jarrett which fits all stories and wire tapped conversations.

Obama changed things when the negotiations on Jarrett went sour as is proven with the conversations that were recorded.

Thus CNN put out its update on Jarrett being a White House Staff.

The fact that the FBI was tapping was acknowledge the day before by Blago himself.

He was bragging about it and said it smelled like Nixon.

Everyone at that point knew.
