12,700: the preliminary forecast for employment levels as projected by the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development for the oil and gas industry in 2009. If the forecast is correct, it would mark the highest level of industry employment in Alaska's history, even exceeding the previous high mark set in 2008.
He had better do an analysis on the report.
And then read the latest; the unemployment rate has gone up in Alaska. Moreover, the only thing that is keeping the employment at its current level in the oil industry is the work on maintaining the pipeline and keeping the damn thing from leaking and offshore exploration.
ACES had nothing to do with that.
