Today, the Alaska legislature is going back to the isolated capital city of Juneau, to work on the people’s business.
In 90 days running (with some legislators like Rep. Ramras taking three days off here and there), our elected officials will be crafting legislation that will protect us from using cell phones in cars to enacting the death penalty. And of course since oil prices are high, our legislators are looking at ways to spend the extra dough.
But within all of the hoopla on high oil prices and the state coffers full of dough, Governor Parnell and the legislature will be revisiting Sarah Palin’s legacy legislation; Alaska’s Clear and Equitable Share (ACES).
