Govt to construct museum in Kogelo

The government will construct a multi million shillings museum at the Nyang'oma Kogelo home of the United States of America president elect, Barrack Obama's grand parents, tourism minister, Najib Balala has said.

Already, Balala said, his ministry had allocated five million shillings for the project, adding that more funds will be sourced from both the treasury and the private sector.

He was speaking at the Obama's home in Nyang'oma Kogelo, Siaya when he led a high powered delegation from the ministry of tourism to visit U.S. president elect's grand mother, Mama Sarah Obama.

Balala's entourage included the PS in the ministry Rebecca Nabutola, the managing director of the Kenya Tourism Board, Dr. Ongong'a Achieng and the director of tourism, Wanjiru Munene .

Balala said the government was keen on cashing in on the Obama victory to woo more tourists in Kenya adding that his ministry will liaise closely with the Obama family to develop an appropriate tourist attraction site.

The museum, said the Minister, will capture the history of the Late Barrack Obama senior, father to the president elect, history of the communities in Western region of the country and a reflection of the rest of the country.

The Minister said that his ministry was taking advantage of the interest that people both locally and abroad had in the village in which the world super power's president hails from to open up the Western tourism circuit.

Dubbed "The Obama Route", Balala said that this will stimulate tourist's interests in tourism potential sites such as Kakamega forest, Lake Victoria and numerous game reserves that have not been attracting tourists.

"The international interest that is developing because of Barrack Obama's victory in the United States presidential elections must be structured to take care of both the interest of the family, Kogelo community and the country at large" he said.

Balala said his ministry will soon launch an aggressive campaign in the United States to market the country.

Kenya tourism reportedly slumped by 30% following the post election violence .

In 2007, Kenya earned $620 million in the third quarter from tourists drawn to its white beaches and adventurous game parks.

Officials expect this year's total earnings will reach only $665 million, representing a 23 per cent decline in earnings.

If Steve Schmidt says this, then the GOP had better run from Jindal. Steve Schmidt, mastermind of the failed presidential bid of McCain. One of the big blunders by Schmidt was moving out of Michigan.

That sent a loud and clear message to the rust-belt states. That is why Ohio and Pennsylvania went for Obama.

Moreover, the MSM will "crucify" Jindal for this escapade.

It is evident Halcro missed the Zogby poll on those who voted for Obama. It seems Halcro is not too smart.

636 voters say it is serious and 10737 voters say it is silly.

Bush's administration - Ms Palin's personal account of her tumultuous introduction to US politics is widely regarded as the tale most likely to repay a multi-million-dollar advance.

69% of GOP Voters Say Palin Helped McCain

Ninety-one percent (91%) of Republicans have a favorable view of Palin, including 65%who say their view is Very Favorable. Only eight percent (8%) have an unfavorable view of her, including three percent (3%) Very Unfavorable.

When asked to choose among some of the GOP’s top names for their choice for the party’s 2012 presidential nominee, 64% say Palin. The next closest contenders are two former governors and unsuccessful challengers for the presidential nomination this year -- Mike Huckabee of Arkansas with 12% support and Mitt Romney of Massachusetts with 11%.

Three other sitting governors – Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, Charlie Crist of Florida and Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota – all pull low single-digit support.

Each year I get to celebrate Independence Day Twice. On June 30th I celebrate my independence day, and on July 4th I celebrate America’s. This year is special, because it marks the 40th anniversary of my independence.


On June 30th 1968, I escaped Communist Cuba, and a few months later, I was in the United States to stay. That I happened to arrive in Richmond on Thanksgiving Day is just part of the story, but I digress.


I’ve thought a lot about the anniversary this year. The election –year rhetoric has made me think a lot about Cuba and what transpired there. In the late 1950’s, most Cubans thought Cuba needed a change, so when a young leader came along, every Cuban was at least receptive.


When the young leader spoke eloquently and passionately and denounced the old system, the press fell in love with him. They never questioned who his friends were or what he really believed in. When he said he would help the farmers and the poor and bring free medical care and education to all, everyone followed. When he said he would bring justice and equality to all, everyone said, ‘Praise the Lord.’ And when the young leader said, ‘I will be for change and I’ll bring you change,’ everyone yelled ‘Viva Fidel!’


But nobody asked about the change, so by the time the executioner’s guns when silent, the people’s guns had been taken away. By the time everyone was equal, they were equally poor, hungry and oppressed. By the time everyone received their free education, it was worth nothing. By the time the press noticed, it was too late, because they were now working for him. By the time the change was finally implemented, Cuba had been knocked down a couple of notches to Third-World status. By the time the change was over, more than a million people had taken to boats, rafts and inner-tubes. You can call those who made it ashore anywhere else in the world the most fortunate Cubans. And now I’m back to the beginning of my story.


Luckily, we in America would never fall for a young leader who promised change without asking, what change? How will you carry it out? What will it cost America?

"After all this time with him, I still can't say with certainty who he is," wrote Peter Nicholas of the Los Angeles Times Tuesday about Sen. Barack Obama, with whom he's spent roughly 18 hours a day for most of this campaign.

Mr. Obama rarely engages in banter with the reporters who travel with him, and typically is in "robo-candidate mode" on those occasions he does speak with them, Mr. Nicholas said. "Ironically, those of us who were sent out to take his measure in person can't offer much help in answering who he is, or if he is ready. The barriers set in place between us and him were just too great."

Less is known about Barack Obama than about any major party candidate for president in modern history. His public resume is thin -- eight years in the Illinois Senate, four in the U.S. Senate, with two of them spent running for president.

And no candidate for president has had more problematic associations. Barack Obama's first major financial backer was Antoin "Tony" Rezko, currently awaiting sentencing on corruption charges. For nearly 20 years Mr. Obama attended services where the Rev. Jeremiah Wright preached hatred of the United States, and of white people. The radical group ACORN has been committing voter registration fraud on a massive scale. Mr. Obama taught classes for ACORN organizers, and represented the group in a lawsuit against the state of Illinois. The most significant managerial responsibility Barack Obama has ever had was as chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a project conceived of by unrepentant domestic terrorist William Ayers.

Major Media Message to Catholic Bishops: Shut Up!

What started the bishops to speak out was when both Senator Biden and Pelosi both made public statements about abortion that contradicted church teaching, leading to confusion.

But the real story is that of the Obama campaign is using their friends in the media to tell the bishops to shut up because when they speak out they are going against the first amendment. Nearly every story that discusses the Catholic vote has a dissident Catholic quote to contradict the bishops, and often quotes "experts" that condemn the bishops from going over the line by "endorsing candidates" or saying that God supports a single party.

More Trouble in New Mexico Voting

The Gals at Palestra are investigating voter fraud in New Mexico.

As was previously posted here on Acorn's effect on voter registration and absentee ballots, it seems that Obama's camp has people voting in states that are not allowed to.

One example is Shayne Adamski. He lives and works in Los Angeles, CA, is actively involved in politics and was a California delegate at the Democratic National Convention just 2 short months ago. Adamski is also a paid employee on the Obama campaign, and he traveled to New Mexico to help get out the vote in this swing state. All of this is quite admirable.

However, according to the Bernalillo County Clerk, Adamski registered to vote as a resident of Albuquerque on October 5. That's just 38 days after he was representing the state of California as a delegate on the final day of the Democratic National Convention. He also requested an absentee ballot. (We do not yet know if he cast a ballot, we are waiting to hear from the County Clerk.)
