When Begich came into office, the city faced a $33 million shortfall. He cut expenses, partly by winning concessions from city unions. He went after additional revenue sources, from collecting on delinquent fines, to increasing fees for such services as building permits.

Is Begich going to blame Palin on this also? It seems the newly selected Senator is on a blame Palin spending spree.....

How about this for the real story. When Begich came into office, the city faced a $33million dollar shortfall. When he left, he raised taxes through the roof, spent tax payer money like a drunken sailor and left the city with a $17 million dollar shortfall.
