The Game of Clue: The Kohring Trial

Yep, the misdeeds of the prosecution have come to light in the other corruption trials.

Vic Kohring's trial was the most interesting in that if he had a good lawyer as what Wayne Anthony Ross had said, he would have been cleared. No doubt about it.

Here was my feeling on the matter.

Rolling the dice on Bill Allen's testimony:

Bottini asked Allen which politicians he became friends with over the years:

“Ramona Barnes … ”
“John Cowdery … ”
“There was a lot of them …”
“Pete Kott …”
“Vic Kohring …”
“Uh. Beverly Masek.”
“You know, I could go on …”

The questioning of the prosecution:

The prosecution: When you socialize with Vic Kohring. what did you do?
Bill Allen: He’d call me on the phone. I seen him a lot in Juneau.
The prosecution: Go to dinner?
Bill Allen: Yeah
The prosecution: Who paid?
Bill Allen: I did
The prosecution: Ever met his wife?
Bill Allen: No
The prosecution: Step daugher?
Bill Allen: No
The prosecution: Ever have a girlfriend from Russia? Way back. Kohring ever met her? NO Did Rita have a daughter? No, she doesn’t have any kids.
Bill Allen: Recall Vic Kohring calling you at home?
Bill Allen: No, but at my office
The prosecution: Know where he lived? No

In Allen's own words under the prosecution he said Vic Kohring was a friend along with others ...

That Allen is sure a nice "friend" to have. It would be interesting to know what Allen considers to be a friend since he said Kohring was a friend..........

the prosecution's star witness has a little problem with testifying on friendships.

Allen considered Vic a friend and Vic considered Allen a friend.........................

And the first Lt. can't speak for Allen...............

The prosecution has Allen testify against his own factual statements on Vic being a friend like Kott and others?

has counts of extortion against him. It seems Allen's testimony just shut that down. Unless of course the prosecution can pull a rabbitt out of the hat to go along with the money for the easter egg hunt.

Next...........

Allen's testimony is getting more dicey.... sounds like Allen liked to keep people on a leash with money and threatened them with I own your ass or other similar warm fuzzy words while feeling "real" bad for them.

Nice guy.

The prosecution didn't get their extortion conviction, Kohring was cleared of the extortion charge.

Yesterday, Robin Boehner called me and said through a FOIA request she made, she has a document from the Justice Department that is a copy of the ADN blog and comments made about Bottini.

She said she will send me the copy. It will be interesting to see what they were looking at.

And for the record, I know they were looking, at Bottini.
