Congressman Young’s Endorsement of Rep. Hirono is Gobbledygook

I said it before in a previous RedCounty commentary – it is time for Congressman Young to retire.

I have had much respect for our congressman Don Young.

His staffer at the time, Bill Sharrow, helped me when I was in the Air Force and I have always appreciated the Congressman, but Don Young’s yes vote on the Boehner bill crossed the line in the sand. His late-Friday tweet:

repdonyoung Rep. Don Young

Today, I voted to prevent default: 1.usa.gov/nbDhco #alaska #budgetcontrolact

His vote did not prevent a default. The bill voted on was tabled by Senator Reid.

This vote goes against the grain against what voters want.

Moreover, prior to the vote, Moody’s stated that both Boehner’s bill and Reid’s bill would downgrade the U.S. credit rating:

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) - Neither of the debt ceiling bills before Congress would meaningfully alter the country's debt trajectory and thus won't bolster the United States' chance of preserving its AAA rating, a key rating agency said Friday.

"Reductions of the magnitude now being proposed, if adopted, would likely lead Moody's to adopt a negative outlook on the AAA rating," Moody's Investors Service said.

It looks as though Congressman Don Young should think about retiring, his vote crossed the line in the sand.

Behold, Congressman Young’s Gingrich/Pelosi moment with Rep. Hirono:

It’s Gobbledygook.
Evidently, the Congressman forgot the Affordable Healthcare Act appropriately named Obamacare, was a bunch of Gobbledygook.
Moreover, Rep. Hirono doesn’t agree with Rep Young that Obamacare is a bunch of Gobbledygook.
In an e-mail sent to her supporters, Hirono stated:

While you were out celebrating the Fourth of July with family and friends yesterday, you might have missed this big news:

Linda Lingle wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act -- President Obama's landmark health care reform legislation!

Yesterday, she told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser: "If it is a straight 'repeal or not repeal' of the (federal law) as-is without any changes, I would vote to repeal."

I think Lingle was hoping to bury this announcement on a holiday, so nobody except the right-wing mainland funders to whom she panders would notice.

Well, we noticed. And we can't let her get away with it.

What Congressman Young has done is he has given fodder to the Democrats in a general election against GOP Senate candidate Lingle who wants to repeal the Gobbledygook called Obamacare.
So when Young said he was for Alaskans, who did he mean? Because it is getting hard to understand his Gobbledygook endorsement of Hirono.
